Margaret E. Knight worked in a cotton mill as a young girl and, at age 13, developed changes to the weaving machines. Her patent for the paper folding machine that created the flat bottom paper bag is one of twenty that she held (at a time when women rarely were awarded a patent).

A portion of proceeds from the sales of this item will fund scholarships for young women pursuing an education in package design.
