The lawn mower has had several changes and improvements since its 1830 patent but we can give a big THANK YOU to Edwin Beard Budding for inventing the grass cutter. Its design and use was far more efficient than the previously used scythe.

Two of his early machines were used in the Regent’s Park Zoological Gardens in London.
