Let it blow!!
Belgian born Antoine-Joseph (aka Adolfe) Sax designed many versions of the saxophone before his patent in 1846. The composer Berlioz was so intrigued by the sound of Sax’s creations that, in 1844, he developed a piece to be played on Sax’s instruments.
Although we think of jazz music when we think of Saxophones, they are played more in marching bands than in orchestral groups. THANK YOU “Adolfe” Sax for putting more spring in our steps.
